Glen Luchford is a fashion photographer based in London. He gained his initial training as an assistant to fashion photographers Eamon McCabe and Norman Watson. After his first photographic commission shooting The Stone Roses for The Face in 1989, Luchford went on to work as fashion photographer for a wide variety of magazines including Arena, i-D, Vogue Homme International, UK and US Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Interview, Rolling Stone and Vanity Fair. In 1995 Luchford embarked on a notable collaboration with artist Jenny Saville, creating with her a series of arresting nude images. These have been exhibited widely, particularly in Vile Bodies at the ICA, London, and in the documentary of the same name for Channel Four in 1998. His work has been applied to advertising campaigns for clients including Yves Saint Laurent, Levis, Mercedes Benz and Calvin Klein. At the culmination of Luchford’s two-year exclusive contract with Prada in 1997, he won the respected D&AD award for best campaign. He began his first feature film ’From Here to Where’ in 2000, which gained a special nomination for the Michael Powell Award at the Edinburgh Film Festival on 2001. Luchford’s work has been exhibited at the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Photographer’s Gallery, London and MoMA Queens as part of Fashioning Fiction (2004).
