Juliette Bates is a French photographer who lives and works in Paris. In this haunting series of photographs, she captures the beauty of the dark arts in a way that combines little pieces of life and death in each frame. There’s something simply eerie yet bright, delicate, and uplifting going on here and I love the duality of it all. The images have a certain Hitchcock quality to them, which are not only foreboding in its references to death, but also brilliantly channel the solitude that comes with the final stages of life.

When you think of Darrell Eager, you think of a journeyman photographer with taste and a talent for conceptual thinking. Darrell’s great at working with vague ideas and concepting back and forth until they become real and concrete, appropriate for each project. Darrell brings his own sensibility to every shot be it his sense of humor, his sophistication, or his intelligence. His strength is really in understanding the concept, tone, and marketing needs of each client and each shot. When shooting with Darrell, you really get a sense that you are sharing a vision, as he really gets what you’re trying to accomplish and delivers. He keeps things simple, and doesn’t add a lot of unnecessary steps to the process, be it personnel or equipment. But most of all, he’s easy going and fun to work with.

Alastair Magnaldo who is influenced by his children and Japanese film maker Miyazaki creates these beautiful surreal-like photographic creations. Nothing satisfies me more than seeing the best of this mass of artist, and being truly inspired by them. Alastair Magnaldo is a man with immeasurable talent. His photos are for the ones who see stories all around them, the ones who dream of "lying on fluffy clouds or frolicking among the stars," and the ones who won’t let their imaginations flicker out like a dying flame.
